On the 24th June 2014 prepare yourself for a unique night of decadence and revelry within the ancient and beautiful Durham Castle.

Commencing the night with a Champagne drinks reception when the theme is unveiled, guests are immediately immersed in the opulent luxury of this white tie event, and are then taken into a lavish dining experience situated in the stunning surroundings of Palace Green, located directly between the greatest Norman building in England - Durham Cathedral - and the Castle.

After dinner the gates of the barbican will be thrown open to reveal the surprises within. A fireworks display will greet guests on entering the courtyard, after which one is free to explore the ball, losing oneself amongst the grounds, halls, staircases, corridors, chapels and various magnificent rooms of the Castle with entertainment, food and drink in abundance. The lucky few to call themselves survivors as the sun rises will be awarded with their inclusion in the Survivors’ Photo and breakfast in the Great Hall.
